Highmark BCBS of West Virginia (once known as Mountain State BlueCross BlueShield) is the sole health insurance provider in West Virginia that operates under Blue Cross/Blue Shield. In January of 2011, Mountain State Blue Cross Blue Shield became Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield West Virginia, reflecting its 12-year affiliation with the renowned Highmark family of health insurance companies.

Health Insurance Products from Mountain State BCBS
Mountain State BCBS of West Virginia offers many products to its members. The SuperBlue Plus 2008 Plan is a PPO which provides low co-pay amounts and different deductible options. It also provides coverages for children and routine medical exams. High deductible health plans are also available to be used in conjunction with a Health Savings Account, or on its own. This plan has lower premiums than other plans.
