Kaiser Permanente is the largest health insurance provider in the entire United States. One of its subsidiaries, Kaiser of Georgia, provides health insurance products for members in the state of Georgia. The main goal of Kaiser is to promote prevention rather than treatment once a person falls ill. Health and wellness is the key to lowering health insurance rates.

Kaiser of GA Plans

Kaiser of Georgia offers a selection of plans for its members:

  • HMO Plans – HMO, or Health Maintenance Organizations, require members to choose a primary care doctor from a list of pre-approved doctors in a network. This doctor performs all medical services and can refer the member to a specialist if required. Kaiser of Georgia offers HMO plans with set co-pay amounts and low deductibles.
  • Custom Care HealthInvestor HSA – These health insurance plans have high deductibles but lower premiums for the member. Used in conjunction with a Health Savings Account, this plan is tax-free. A HSA allows members to deposit and withdraw funds to be used towards medical expenses.
  • Multi-choice Plan – Members have the option of using either in network or out of network medical facilities. The benefits differ depending on the plan chosen. Kaiser offers 10 different multi-plan choices to its members and 5 multi-choice max plans.
  • Out-of-area PPO plan – Preferred Provider Organizations give the member more freedom when choosing doctors and medical facilities. While the most coverage is offered for in network facilities, members can use doctors and hospitals outside of the network. Members may pay larger out of pocket expenses for this privilege.
  • Senior Advantage Plans – These plans are designed for seniors who are eligible to receive Medicare coverage. It adds more value and benefits to the plan, as well as reducing the amount of paperwork involved.
