Standard Security Life Options for Health Insurance

Standard Security Life Insurance not only provides various health plans for individuals and families, but they also have several options for employers of small businesses.

  • HMO, or Health Maintenance Organizations include a group of physicians, medical facilities, and other medical providers who work in conjunction with the insurance companies to offer lower premiums for members. Each member chooses their own primary physician who can refer them to specialists in the network.
  • POS, or Point of Service plan also requires the member to choose their primary doctor who can refer them to a specialist if necessary. In this respect, it is similar to an HMO. The difference is that with a POS, the member fills out and handles all of the paperwork involved in a medical claim.

All of the health plans offered by Standard Security come with basic coverages and can be upgraded to more comprehensive plans. Some plans include maternity care, vision, dental, or mental health coverage. A member can also opt to purchase short term health insurance, as well as specially designed plans for people who are volunteers or who have a disability.
