The Alta Health and Life Insurance Company is a subsidiary of Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Company. ALTA is able to utilize the experience and network (over 550,000 health providers and 4,250 hospitals) of Great-West to provide its members with quality health care. ALTA Health Insurance Products
ALTA offers a variety of traditional health insurance plans, which allow policyholders to choose a primary physician and to obtain referrals to see specialists. These plans include:
- Point of Service (POS) plans
- Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans
- Health Mantenance Organization (HMO) plans
- Open Access Plans
- COBRA, or state continuation coverage, services
In addition, employers can purchase a consumer-driven health plan, which allows their employees to obtain coverage at a lower price, and to be able to make more decisions about their medical care. Such plans include:
- Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
- Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA)
