For residents of Maine there are plenty of great health care options available, but none come close to the premiere services offered by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maine. That’s why over half of the population of Maine turns to BCBS to cover their health care needs.

As of 2011, Members of Anthem BCBS of Maine have access to a network of more than 80 percent of hospitals and nearly 90 percent of physicians nationwide, as well as hospitals and physicians in 200 countries nationwide, according to Anthem.com.

Individual and Family Plan Options

  • Health Choice PPO Plans: This plan offers three options with varying deductible amounts. The plans cover between 60-100% of all covered medical services. Members have the freedom to choose from en extensive network of physicians or choose a non-network physician, but for a higher out-of-pocket cost. Coverage includes prescription drug benefits, office visits, well-child care and immunizations, preventive care, and more.
  • Individual HMO Plans: Members choose a primary health care provider from Anthem’s network of physicians located throughout the state. The HMO includes no deductibles, 100% coverage for preventative care services for the entire family, low-cost prescription drugs, and $10 copayments for office visits. Members choose either HMO Basic or HMO Standard.

Consumer-Driven Health Plans

  • Lumenos HSA: The Lumenos HSA plan is compatible with a health savings account where members make tax-free contributions that can later be used to fund medical related expenses. Members are covered 100% for preventative care services and have the freedom to use any health care provider they wish.
  • Lumenos HIA: This plan is paired with a health incentive account where members earn credits that can be used toward health care costs. Members are rewarded for partaking in healthy behaviors and programs. This plan also provides 100% coverage for preventative care services.
