Joseph Biden's Health Care Plan

Senator Joe Biden says that within the first six months of becoming president that he’ll make sure every child in America is provided with health insurance. He sees that as one of the fundamental values in America today, Biden stated in a health care forum this week. On top of that, Biden said that he is in favor of everyone in America having health insurance coverage but that paying for it is a huge issue.

Biden’s health insurance plan is about avoiding catastrophe in the system rather than providing everyone with health insurance coverage that will pay for every doctor visit. Biden expressed that he wants a plan enacted that would keep Americans from going bankrupt when they have a major health care issue in their lives. Many people do end up with huge medical bills today when they have extravagant health care needs without insurance. Biden says he wants the government to pay for health insurance for Americans when their health insurance bills end up costing tens of thousands of dollars. He says this will keep most people from losing everything they own to pay their medical bills.

Joe Biden’s health insurance plan doesn’t go nearly as far as it should. Providing all children with health insurance is nothing new. In fact, it already exists. The only thing truly unique about Biden’s plan is how he wants to avoid catastrophe for Americans. But his plan really doesn’t stand out from the rest all that greatly.

Biden’s health insurance plan is very realistic in terms of dealing with the current issue facing Americans. While some candidates claim they want to take on the entire health care industry and solve everyone’s health care problems, Biden simply states that everyone should be helped if their medical bills become catastrophic.
