Health Care Issues Important to Young Adults
Young people today see health care as being one of the top social issues of our time—and especially for the 2008 presidential election. This is good news for everyone who champions the health care cause, who needs health care or who understands the importance of improving our current medical industry.
A Harris Interactive poll sponsored by Alloy Media + Marketing’s 2007 Alloy College Explorer found that among 18-30 year olds who have an issue that will impact their 2008 presidential vote, health care is the second most important domestic issue. Only the economy was a more pivotal issue in this group, according to the poll. Some 48 percent of those 18-30 year olds said health care issues can change the way they vote in the election.
This is certainly good news in terms of getting change to the current system over the next five years. We’re going to hear a lot of different plans by different candidates over the upcoming months. and if you feel strongly enough about one candidate’s plan you can vote to put that person in office.
Incidentally, the poll found that Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have the most support from this age group in the poll garnering 22 and 19 percent of the votes respectively if the election were held today. Republicans Rudy Guiliani and John McCain would get 11 and six percent of the vote respectively.

Republicans will still get
